Inn Marin stands out as a leader in the green hotels/business movement because it doesn't see green as a goal, but a process of constantly upgrading and improving green practices and products. Although we are small and don't have much economic leverage, we constantly challenge our suppliers to come up with greener products and processes if they want to do business with us.

Inn Marin takes its corporate social responsibility very seriously. Team members serve on numerous non-profit organizations. July 1st kicked off the “Hotels that Help” program which asks guests to donate $1.00 per night to the Marin County Food Bank. In celebration of Rickey's Restaurant 5th anniversary, we are donating 40% of the revenue every second Wednesday of the month to a designated charity. Year to date, we have given $8,946.00. In 2009, Inn Marin has already donated $15,229. Inn Marin and Rickey's donated gift certificates to local non-profits in 2008 totaling $35,396.00. In the past ten years, the combined donations to non-profit organizations exceed $300,000.00.

To celebrate the Inn's 10th anniversary we planned a Green Meetings Conference held October 7th, 2009. Green Meetings – Making it Real!

To enhance the economic development of Marin County, Inn Marin has planned and hosted three Press Familiarization weekend tours for over 65 travel writers partnering with local businesses to show what Marin County has to offer as a destination to the world.
